A Smith-Family Tradition

After the kids mail their letters to Santa, we always stop at the South Bend Chocolate Company & enjoy a very large, decorated hot chocolate.   Then we pet the real reindeer that they put on display on Monument Circle!

Having a 'BEARY' good time!

Both of the girls requested a "real puppy" on their wish lists to Santa!

Olivia was able to write her own letter for the first time this year!  She insisted on carrying it herself too!

Every year, we help the kids write their letters to Santa & take them downtown to mail them!

We enjoy the 'tree of lights' on display on the Soldiers & Sailors Monument on the circle in Indianapolis!  Each year a cherub is perched on top of a clock on the corner of Meridian Street & Georgia Street.

This year we kicked off the Christmas season by enjoying some 'Cookies with Santa" at our church.

I love looking at our tree with all of the decorations that Olivia & Nora have made!

The girls left "Trunk-or-Treat" with pretty FULL candy buckets!

Getting ready for Trick-or-Treating

After riding the "headless horeman" hayride a couple of weeks ago, the girlies were ready for Halloween!  Olivia made a spider-head band at school on Friday.  Then we got "Hannah Montana" and "Tinkerbell" dressed for trick-or-treat time!

Kindergarten Field Trip

On Friday Olivia's class went on a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch.  Here she is with her "boyfriend", Harry.  :)  She & Haley were in my group.  The 3 of us sat on the bus together.  Each of the kids got to enjoy the hayride, pick a pumpkin to take home, and eat a cookie and some apple cider.  Everyone had a great time!

Sunday School- I'm teaching the kindergarten kids at our church this fall. Here we are having refreshments after class

Next to Olivia in the picture is the bag that I had each of the kindergartners make.  In it are things in the world that "God has made"- sand, seashells, rocks, leaves, stars, bugs, beans, feathers....I tried to make a big concept, "God made the world and everything in it", smaller so that the kids would understand it.  I think they did!  Thanks to my helpers, my sweetheart of a husband Terry & a parent helper, our first session went well.  I'm looking forward to seeing their little smiling faces every Sunday!  :)

We camped in Brownstown, Indiana this weekend with some friends
