Wedding Bells & weekend recaps

Sometimes it takes a chaotic calendar to remind me that I absolutely married the right man! The past week seems like a blur to me, it was so crazy busy. There's no way to balance the management of this big family without both Terry and I put together. It takes two, for sure!

We were honored to be a part of a special wedding celebration this week. Terry's cousin, Kyle, married his bride, Courtney, at the War Memorial downtown on Thursday. The girls were thrilled to be junior bridesmaids, while little Tess was happy to be the flower girl. After the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner on Wednesday, we spent the day getting the girls ready for their wedding-debut on Thursday. I did all 3 kids' hair and make up, and off we went downtown to get in their dresses and get pictures taken.
It was a mad race chasing the girls through the memorial in the hours leading up to the ceremony.
Ensuring that everyone's hair stayed up,
dresses stayed clean,
and tights stayed in tact.
Luckily, they all made it to the ceremony
with a little prayers from mom and dad as we sat in our seats waiting with anticipation for all 3 girls to see if they could make it successfully down the aisle to their assigned spots.
The girls actually ended up doing a fine job!
(Here they are posed with the bride in the dressing room just before the ceremony started)
We wined and dined at the reception,
amiling and dancing until we could stay out no later (and we arrived home at 11pm, with everyone having to get up for school and work on Friday).
It was a beautiful evening, and we are happy to have been a part of it!
After school and work on Friday (trying our best to keep our eyes open), we drove back to mommy & Nora's school for the Rhoades Chili Supper and Fall Festival, where daddy worked the register as a volunteer while mommy took the girls around to have some fun. The girls dressed in their costumes...
Olivia- vampiress
Nora- baby
Tessa- a Colts cheerleader

We got our cheeks painted in the art room.
The results...

And from there, we drove over to church for the annual Trunk-or-Treat (which I have no pictures of...must have been sleep-walking by that point!). Needless to say, we spent Saturday and Sunday hibernating for the most part, but we did manage to muster up enough energy to carve some pumpkins in time for Halloween on Monday.

I think Daddy did a pretty good job with the carving (while I took pictures). :)

Whew! Our crazy-busy, eventful, happy life....I'm sure I'll miss all of this chaos some day.

Fall Fun!

Autumn
When the trees their summer splendor
Change to raiment red and gold,
When the summer moon turns mellow,
And the nights are getting cold;
When the squirrels hide their acorns,
And the woodchucks disappear;
Then we know that it is autumn,
Loveliest season of the year.

Yesterday, my best friend and I planned an afternoon of fall crafts, activities, and cookies for our 7 kids collectively! We took some pictures outside first.

Then, we gathered everyone into the kitchen for crafts.

How true...
Each one waited as patiently as they could for their turn to help bake cookies.

Garrett enjoyed watching. :)

Time to eat some cookies!

The mommy's made ourselves some halloween photo magnets with the photos from outside.

We were credited for our hard work.... :)
